Named after the Grit that is Philly’s most noteworthy trait, Gritty is the embodiment of all that we love in our mascot and our city. Grit powers Philly and gives us the gumption to keep getting up no matter how many times we get knocked down. Grit makes us work hard. Grit makes us play hard. We simply know no other way because grit is in our DNA. Philly loves Gritty because we are gritty.
